POOL DAY EN THE STANDARD HOTEL | MIAMI

Ya se que he estado demasiado perdida, pero se me juntaron muchos viajes, armar maleta, desarmarla, lavar todo y reorganizar para volver a armar otra maleta… es que recorrer el mundo puede ser físicamente agotador, pero mentalmente liberador, así que muy pronto verán todos los lugares que visité y prometo que les encantarán.
Hoy les quiero contar de uno de mis planes favoritos cuando visito la ciudad de Miami, y es desconectarme de la locura de la ciudad, pasando un día de relax en uno de mis hoteles favoritos, The Standard Hotel.
Este hotel me fascina por todo el concepto que maneja, empezando por su decoración setentosa, su vibra relajada, su estilo inclusivo y diverso, y ademas es Pet friendly, así que verán a los perritos mas lindos de toda Miami. El area de la piscina tiene unos jardines hermosos con vista al mar y a la congestionada ciudad de Miami. Un verdadero oasis en medios del caos.

I know I've been gone for a while, but I had to plan many trips that took all my time... because traveling the world can be physically exhausting but mentally liberating, so very soon you´ll see All the places I visited and I promise you will love them.
Today I want to tell you about one of my favorite plans when I visit Miami, and it is to disconnect from the madness of the city, spending a relaxing day in one of my favorite hotels, The Standard Hotel.
This hotel fascinates me for all their concept, starting with its seventies decoration, its relaxed vibe, its inclusive and diverse style, and it is also Pet Friendly, so you will see the most beautiful dogs from Miami. The pool area has beautiful gardens overlooking the ocean and the congested city. A true oasis in the middle of chaos.
Piscina del Standard Hotel
La mejor forma de pasar un día en la piscina del hoteles comprando un day pass, donde también tienes acceso al spa del hotel, que por supuesto, es igual de cool que el hotel. Estos pases tienen un costo de $75 durante la semana y $150 los domingos, así que aprovecha cualquier día de la semana donde las instalaciones están mas vacías y también ahorras un poco en la entrada.

The best way to spend a day in the hotel´s pool is buying a day pass, where you also have access to the hotel spa, which of course, is just as cool as the hotel. These passes have a cost of $ 75 during the week and $ 150 on Sundays, so take advantage of any day of the week where the facilities are more empty and you also save a little at the entrance fee.
The Standard Spa
El Standard Spa ofrece diversos tratamientos con un costo extra, pero si solo quieres utilizar las instalaciones básicas, también están súper. El Spa es unisex, así que compartes las instalaciones con hombres y mujeres, y por supuesto, como no es Europa o Asia, todo el mundo utiliza su traje de baño ;) (No naked people around)
El spa es como un Hamam/baño turco, entras a esta especie de cueva que está caliente, tienes tinas de baño con agua bastante caliente, saunas, vapor y mi parte favorita, unas escaleras de mármol que están súper calientes, te acuestas sobre el mármol y alcanzas el relax total. En la recepción del Spa puedes comprar una porción de scrub natural y aprovechar tu sesión de relajación para salir con una piel reluciente.

The spa is like a Hammam/Turkish bath, you enter this kind of hot cave, you have bath tubs with very hot water, saunas, steam and my favorite part, marble stairs that are super-hot, you lie on the marble and achieve a total relaxation. At the Spa reception you can buy a portion of natural scrub and also leave with a shiny skin.
Después de tu mañana de relax dentro del Spa, es tiempo para un almuerzo al borde de la piscina. En el Hotel tienen un restaurante súper rico que se llama The Lido Bayside Grill, su especialidad la comida mediterránea, pero igual tienen una hamburguesas y tacos de pescado deliciosos! Aah y no olviden pedir una jarra de sangría de vino blanco y a comer bajo el delicioso sol Miamero.

After spend the morning relaxing in the Spa, it's time for a lunch at the edge of the pool. At the Hotel they have a good restaurant called The Lido Bayside Grill, their specialty is Mediterranean food, but they still have delicious burgers and fish tacos! Aah and do not forget to order a pitcher of white wine sangria and eat under the delicious Miami sun.
En el Standard Hotel tienen una cabina telefónica amarilla, que yo pensaba que era solo para la foto, así que entré a ella y levanté el teléfono y resulta que alguien me empezó a hablar (por eso mi cara de tarada en la foto jaja) y es que tienen una línea directa para solicitarle a los representantes gubernamentales de tu área, que aborden temas de relevancia como salud, inmigración, derechos LGTB, justicia criminal, etc. Esta iniciativa tiene como nombre “Ring your Rep” o llama a tu representante y está disponible en todos los hoteles de esta cadena. Así que anímense a acercarse y llamar a los gobernantes a exigirles acciones sobre las causas que defiendas!

At The Standard Hotel they have a yellow telephone booth, which I thought was only for the picture, so I went in and I picked up the phone and it turns out that someone started talking to me (that's why I have that face in the photo haha). The hotel have a direct line for guests to ask government representatives in your area to address relevant issues such as healthcare, immigration, LGBT rights, criminal justice, etc. This initiative has been call "Ring your Rep" and is available in all the locations of this hotel chain. So approach and call your representatives to demand action on the causes you defend!
