Hoy les quiero hablar sobre una de mis tendencias favoritas para el verano y son los aretes o zarcillos protagónicos. La verdad tienen un par de años en tendencia pero siempre durante el verano vienen con más fuerza, por la evidente razón de que durante invierno es prácticamente imposible usarlo con tantas capas y abrigos.
Unos buenos zarcillos pueden llevar tu look al siguiente nivel de "wow factor", puedes vestirte muy sencilla y lucir impactante tan solo con unos buenos aretes.
Si se fijan en mis fotos estoy utilizando un lindo romper color menta de Seta Apparel y unas sandalias planas, pero el look se ve impecable y elegante sin necesidad de estar apretada y en tacones.

This is my first post in English so I hope not to have too many mistakes (sorry in advanced if that´s the case). Today I want to talk about one of my favorite trends for the Summer, the statement earrings. They have been a couple of years in trend but always during the summer they come back for the obvious reason that during winter it is practically impossible to wear them using so many layers and coats.
A good pair or earrings can take your look to the next level and give you that "wow factor". Even if you have a very simple outfit, you can look stunning with the perfect statement earrings.
If you look at my photos I'm using a nice mint-colored romper from Seta Apparel and flat sandals but the look looks impeccable and elegant without being uncomfortable or to be force to wear heels.
Pero como todo, existen ciertas reglas que debes seguir para salir victoriosa:
- Toma en cuenta tus facciones: Cuando vayas en búsqueda de los maxi aretes perfectos considera el largo de tu cuello (en general deberías dejar unos milímetros de espacio para que no choquen con tu clavícula), y la forma de tu rostro.
Si tienes un rostro redondo, los aretes largos y estrechos ayudarán a alargar tu rostro y disimular un poco su redondez.
Si tu rostro es alargado/ovalado, tienes la suerte de poder usar cualquier tipo de aretes. Sin embargo puedes equilíbralo con unos aretes anchos, o afilar tu rostro con aretes largos.
Si tu rostro es en forma de diamante, también corres con la suerte de usar cualquier forma de aretes.
Si tu rostro es cuadrado, no uses aretes con muchos ángulos o cuadrados, mejor usa aretes circulares o alargadas para suavizar las líneas de tu rostro.
Si tu rostro es triangular, utiliza aretes ovalados o redondos.
- Déjalos ser los protagonistas: puedes seleccionar prendas de vestir neutrales, con cortes sencillos y escoger unos aretes que contrasten y dejar que tus "statement earings" brillen por si solos dándole un toque divertido a tu conjunto; pero también puedes seleccionar un look monocromático (todo del mismo color) y obtendrás un estilo súper chic.
- Selecciona la ropa adecuada: camisas con tirantes, hombros libres y escotes profundos crearan el espacio necesario entre las prendas. Recuerda que los aretes grandes no necesitan de nada más para destacar y atraer todas las miradas hacia tu rostro, sin importar el escote.
- Sutileza con el maquillaje: ya los zarcillos serán el punto focal en el área superior, si decides utilizar un maquillaje muy recargado parecerás una piñata colorida.
- No utilices collares: no quieres que tantos accesorios compitan por la atención.
- Considera recoger tu cabello: No es una regla de oro, pero si quieres lograr un look sofisticado con una buena cola de caballo, una trenza, o un "Messy Bun" (moño despeinado) lucirás impecable.
But there are certain rules that you must follow to achieve the best look:
- Consider your features: When you search for the perfect maxi earrings consider the length of your neck (in general you should leave a few millimeters of space so they do not collide with your clavicle), and the shape of your face.
If you have a round face, the long and narrow earrings will help to lengthen your face and disguise a little its roundness.
If your face is elongated / oval, you are lucky! You’re able to use any type of earrings. However, you can balance it with wide earrings, or sharpen your face with long earrings.
If you have a diamond face, you also lucky, you can use any shape of earrings.
If your face is square, do not use earrings with many angles or squares, better use circular or elongated earrings to soften the lines of your face.
If your face is triangular, use oval or round earrings.
- Let them be the protagonists: you can select neutral garments with simple cuts and choose some contrasting earrings and let your "statement earrings" shine on their own, giving a fun touch to your outfit. Another option is to select a monochromatic look (all of the same color) and you will get a super chic style.
- Select the right clothes: tops without sleeves, free shoulders and deep necklines will create the necessary space between the garments. Remember that large earrings do not need anything else to stand out and attract all eyes to your face, regardless of the neckline.
Subtle makeup: the “statement earrings" will be the focal point in the upper area, if you decide to use a very heavy or colorful makeup you'll look like a piñata.
Avoid necklaces: you don't want so many accessories competing for attention.
Pull your hair up: This isn't a golden rule but if you want to achieve a sophisticated look you should consider a good ponytail, a braid or a Messy Bun and you'll look impeccable.
